This project is a creative, playful take on the prompt: design a box and objects within. It is a fabrication of the most striking moments of my childhood home, featuring a rotating display of four major rooms and their furniture. Each room corresponds to an activity essential to my daily routine as a child, and each piece of furniture, as well as the rest of the interior and exterior decorations, are interlocked and detachable. I also explored the mechanism behind hinges using only planar masonite, and successfully created functional fridge and oven door hinges from 2D surfaces.

Apart from the purchased figurines used to add animation to the model, the entire house is constructed strictly from laser-cut masonite sheets. The overall design allows the interior of the house to rotate for a full 360 display, and finger joints at each of the edges make the entire model structurally stable without the need for any adhesive.
