Queer as Quilt:

Story-telling fabric squares stitched together in no discernable order, made to hold on to the warmth and comfort of specific moments in time, and to be treasured through time.

This project is an amalgamation of forty-two different snapshots of (pop) cultural instances my queerness has called home. It is an ode to my childhood sense of belonging, teenage closetedness, adult self-acceptance, and through it all, to complete embracement of who I am and whom I love.

To my queerness, these ephemeral moments of communal victories have been the fabrics that weaved themselves into my own queer space: moments in Internet time that validated my very existence. I chose to translate this eclectic virtual space into a tangible keepsake of queerness, and so came the idea of patchwork.
